Weekly Update

With Easter holidays over, last week’s spin added a few more kilometres to previous Saturdays taking in a 85km route from the Auburn Lodge to Ballynacally – Kildysart – Coolmeen – Labasheeda – Kildysart – Ballynacally – Ennis.

Well done to everyone who turned out on Saturday. Even though it was 9 degrees there was a bite in the air as both groups were out of the auburn by 10 past 9 heading for Kildysart with both groups working well.

The route got lumpy before Coolmeen and again after Labasheeda with group separating on account of hills but got back together again.  With disaster punctures and rain at the same time leading to a long coffee stop for some, it was well done to Martha and Pat who held the group until everyone regrouped - great team work lads.

After the coffee stop more rain and punctures.  It was just one of those days in the world of cycling when you dig deep and get on with it on a tough training route which you’ll all well remember.

All home safe again - well done everyone on both groups. Allez Crusaders!

We are keeping the pace controlled until the end of April to encourage new members to join the club and allow fitness levels to increase.  We all remember when we got that helping hand when we started cycling so lets extend this to some new members.  Thanking all members for there support and patience while we grow the Crusaders for 2013.
