About Us

Following the success of the Clare Crusaders Malin to Mizen cycle held in July 2009 in aid of the Clare Crusaders Clinic, a group of the cyclists formed the Clare Crusaders Cycling Club.

The purpose is provide people interested in cycling with access to regular spins and to train for certain cycle events over the course of the cycling year. The group comes together in the spirit of providing an outlet for all levels to meet and cycle socially and is based on the very successful running and walking groups.

Our fundraising for the Clinic has continued with over €150,000 raised in the past 3 years through our annual four-day July tour.

We are a Cycling Ireland accredited club and since the organisation of the Saturday morning cycles we have attracted a lot of new members joining the group cycles from newbies to cyclists who race or have raced in the past.  We have in excess of 50 members who participate in events from local spins to sportifs and road racing.

The focus is on creating a club that will accommodate all abilities with plans to structure a calendar of events that will enable the more advanced cyclists to try racing to the main objective of organised group cycle events and participation at many of the bigger events through the year such as the An Post series.

If you would like more information on any aspect of the Clare Crusaders Cycling Club please contact Ollie Hayes at 087 767-9993 Ian Falconer at 087 958 3721. Alternatively, you can meet the group any Saturday morning for their group spins or find us on Facebook at Clarecrusaders Cyclingclub.
